Alexandra Hamilton-Ayres is an award-winning film composer and classical electronic artist. Her music is inspired by minimalism, classical, film scores, electronic and continuous music. Alexandra has written music for film, theatre, dance, circus and opera. As an upcoming solo artist and multi-instrumentalist in the classical and electronic scenes, Alexandra’s passions lie in the duality between both genres, visuals and her love for the piano.
Alexandra’s music has been described by The White Room Magazine as “majestic, at times monumental…the force and vastness of nature”. She has performed alongside artists such as Talvin Singh, Melissa Parmenter, Gabríel Ólafs, Mara Simpson, Throwing Snow and TSHA. Her debut album 2 Years Stranger was featured on BBC Radio 6 – “Waiting is a hauntingly beautiful track” Mary Anne Hobbs. From Alexandra’s debut release as an artist 19-88, from which track Where 2 featured on Nils Frahm’s 2020 Pianoday playlist and released a rework album RE:19-88 that had tracks featured on BBC Radio 3 ‘Unclassified’ and Soho Radio.
